Samut Songkhram drum
At the entrance road into the amphur meuang of Samut Songkhram, a small roadside park dis-plays a giant drum.
In Thai, this percussion instrument is generically known as klong (fig.), and here refers to the city's old name, i.e. Meuang Klong, as well as to its position along the Mae Klong River (fig.).
