RELIGION & MYTHOLOGY
Kathavarayan
Kathavarayan, the man here wearing a red turban, is a kind of Indian nat, who was given the task to bless all those who come to see the goddess Devi.
As such his image is often found near the entrance of Hindu-Tamil temples, such as Wat Phra Sri Maha Uma Devi, also known as Wat Sri Mariamman and Wat Kaek, on Silom Road in Bangkok.
