Moebyel Lake of which the northern end starts near Sagar, a village some 35 kilometers south of Inle Lake, is host to this unique and intriguing aquatic plant.

It consists of large leaves that are immersed under the surface of water while its pure white flowers rise to just above the surface of water.

The flowers of this aquatic plant somewhat resemble lilies and as it is also found in Inle Lake itself, hence it  is commonly referred to as Inle Lake Lily.
