The
Desert Rose (fig.), which is also known with a
variety of other names, including
Impala Lily and Sabi Star. It has a swollen basal stem, which in botanical
jargon is known as a caudex; clustered leathery leaves, that are arranged
spirally; and variously pink to red, funnel-shaped flowers, with a whitish
blush at the centre (fig.), that may extend outwardly on the petals (fig.).
