Kyaihtiyo, known in English as the
Golden Rock, is
balanced on a mountain edge, and rests on an extremely small contact area
between the 7.5 meters high rock and
the mountain slope, allegedly using a strand of the Buddha's hair to prevent the
giant boulder from tumbling down, as the relic has been deposited into a hole
bored into the rock, which was later sealed off with a pagoda that was built
over it.
