Nataraja, i.e. his cosmic dance of
truth and energy
(fig.).
In the same way as in Indian homes (fig.),
this statue is placed at the southwestern corner of the temple, making it the
first deity that one encounters when making a
pradakshina, i.e.
a clockwise circular procession around a temple.
