Thailand

The Bangkok Coin Museum operates under the auspices of Thai-land's Grand National Treasure Bureau, which is a department of the Treasury Department.

Since the latter is also a branch of the Thai Ministry of Finance, its logo, i.e. Vayuphak, a mythological bird be-lieved to guard treasure (fig.), is hence also used by the museum.

  Coin Museum

The museum in Phra Nakhon District aims to be a centre for coin collectors and those with an interest in meeting and exchanging knowledge, information and activities on coins (fig.). In the foyer is an image of Phra Klang (fig.), a kind of guardian angel that guards precious assets.
