Inside Ban Dam, i.e. Thawan Duchanee's museum that in English is known as the ‘Black House’, is a collection of paintings and sculptures on display, including a few featuring the artist himself.

Many of the buildings also have animal bones, skulls, skins, and horns, and artifacts, as well as furniture, either made with such items or decorated with them.

Here a long table is lined with chairs made from buffalo horns and hides, while some of the tables and floors are decorated with black crocodile skins.

At the entrance of the main hall is a school band playing Lan Na music on traditional instruments.
