Asohk Leuang, i.e.
‘Yellow
Asoka’,
is a tree
with the botanical name Saraca thaipingensis and is commonly known as
Yellow Asoka. It is native to Southeast Asia,
belongs to the family Fabaceae, and it bears yellow flowers.
The seed pods of Asohk
Leuang are flat, elongated, leathery legumes about 10–20 cm long
that mature from green to dark reddish brown, sometimes deepening to
brownish-black as they dry.
