  bai kang han

Thailand

Thai wind vanes, called bai kang han (lom), often have fanciful shapes, like this on with puppets that move up and down through a handle when the blades turn in the wind.

It belongs to the Royal Thai Navy and is painted in the Thai tricolour (thong trai rong) with on its tail a white elephant on a red field, the ensign of the Royal Thai Navy (fig.).
