In Yaowaraht area, in Bangkok's Chinatown, all sorts of market shops pop up during Chinese New Year celebrations and streets are adorned with red lanterns called hong tung long (fig.).

In front of homes, shrines  and temples, temporary altars are set up, in order to allow people to burn incense and make offerings.
