Two Sambar Deer in the wild, recognizable by their dark brown coat, with chestnut marks on the rump and underparts, and mane-like hairs on the neck and throat.

 

These two individuals were spotted in Chitwan National Park (fig.), in southern Nepal, during a photo safari on elephant's back.
