A metallic green Soldier Fly of the genus Sargus, spotted in Uttar Pradesh. Though Soldier Flies are diverse in size and shape, they commonly are either partly or wholly metallic green, with some members imitating features of wasps. They are often rather inactive and typically rest with their wings placed one above the other over the abdomen, usually bathing in the sun.
