Thai plums from the genus Spondias dulcis, known locally as makok farang. These edible fruits are oval and grow on long stalks. Its flesh is crunchy and it contains a fibrous pit. Eaten fresh, the taste is slightly sour, but it also has several culinary uses. They stand at the origin of the name of Bangkok.
