Children with topknots called juk and wearing traditional Thai dress are playing a traditional game known as mah kahn kluay, which literally means ‘banana stem horse’ (fig.).

In the game, a banana stem is carried over the shoulder with a string and held between the legs as if straddling an imaginary horse (fig.).
