Indian mustard plants
Many parts of northern India are coloured by the innumerable yellow flowers of sarsom, i.e. Indian Mustard plants of the genus Brassica juncea.
Oriental mustard is said to originate from this region, that is the southern foothills of the Himalayas (fig.).
