  White-lipped Pit Viper (male)

 

Hemotoxic venom. Very painful bite, though usually not fatal it may lead to necrosis.

A male White-lipped Pit Viper. Its dorsal side is green, whilst the ventral side is yellow and the tail brownish. In some places the thin white ventrolateral stripe, that runs along its body and which is typical with males, is clearly visible.

VENOMOUS! This snake is semi-dangerous. It has a hemotoxic venom and has a very painful bite, and though usually not fatal, in severe envenoming its is potentially lethal. Its bite may further lead to local pain, swelling, bruising, blistering, shock, moderate to severe coagulopathy and haemorrhagins with extensive bleeding, minor necrosis.
