An adult White-breasted Kingfisher. It has a dark chestnut head and belly, its throat and breast are white, and its large bill, legs and feet are reddish-orange.

Its upper tail feathers and wings are mostly turquoise, apart from the chestnut and black wing coverts, and a whitish shoulder patch.
