  Wat Thaton (Burmese-style nagah)

Thailand

The relic chamber of Wat Thaton (fig.) can be reached through a winding staircase shaped in the form of a dragon's body (fig.), which at the top reveals the dragon's head and anterior part.

Besides a golden and a silver dragon that flank the relic shrine, at each side of the shrine also stands a Burmese-style guardian creature known as nagah (fig.), i.e. a legged naga-like mythological creature, one in silver and one in gold.
