Wat Mareukhathaiyawan
Wat Mareukhathaiyawan is a Mahanikaya sect temple in Phetchaburi built on land once inhabited by deer, of which males are known as mareuk, from which the temple got its name Mareukathaiyawan.
This is also the Thai name for Mrigadava, i.e. modern-day Sarnath, the sacred site in northern India where the Buddha delivered his first sermon (fig.), setting the Wheel of Law in motion.
