The Asian Black Bear, a species of bear that occurs in the forests of hilly and mountainous areas in South, East and Southeast Asia. It is also known as the moon bear, due to the typifying, creamy-white, crescent-shaped curve on its chest, similar to that of the Malayan Bear (fig.).
