Thevetia peruviana
is the Latin name of large evergreen shrub or small
tree, that grows to 7 meters tall. It is named after a French missionary who
collected plants in South America. In Thai it is called
ram pheuy.
This evergreen bears yellow to dark yellow, trumpet-like flowers and its fruit consists of a large seedpod that bears some resemblance to a Chinese lucky nut. The sap and the seed of the Yellow Oleander are highly toxic.
