This memorial honours a group
of local villagers from Sih Bua Thong in
Angthong,
who are historically remembered for their collective resistance against
Burmese incursions during the late
Ayutthaya
period.
Akin to the
Bang Rajan
(fig.)
defenders, these individuals represent a
form of community-based defence, reflecting the
mobilisation of rural populations in times of political
crisis.
