 Subject:

King Bhumiphon and Queen Sirikit as newly wed couple in 1950 and the King and Queen as royal couple in 2010. The pink background of the first design expresses the wish for a long life in good health, since royal astrologers in 2007 determined it was a good colour for the King's health when he was being treated for heart problems and other ailments, a declaration that prompted the King to start wearing a pink shirt and blazer in public, which in turn sparked a pink shirt craze among his subjects. The yellow background colour of the second design refers to the colour of the King's birthday. The six small hearts, embossed in gold on each stamp represent six decades of the Royal Marriage.
