The Reua Krut Heun Het escort barge (fig.) on the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, during the final rehearsal for the Royal Barge Procession in support of the Royal Kathin Ceremony at Wat Arun (fig.) on 9 November 2012. This barge has the figurehead of a red-coloured Garuda (fig.) and is manned by 34 rowers and 2 helmsmen. The oarsmen are dressed in pink trousers, a dark-blue to purplish shirt trimmed with gold, and a red Malabiang-helmet. The oars are silver with a red handle. Reua Krut Heun Het sails in pair (fig.) with Reua Krut Tret Traichak (fig.). From afar, both Garuda escort barges are confusingly similar to Reua Asurapaksi (fig.) and Reua Asuravayuphak (fig.), and can from a distance best be distinguished by the fact that the bird-like figureheads (fig.) of the latter two barges have their arms in a downward pose (fig.), whereas the arms of the figureheads on the prows of the Garuda escort barges have their arms held up (fig.).
