The Red River at the Vietnam-China border, somewhere between Ban Vuoc (Bản Vược) Border Station and Trinh Tuong (Trịnh Tường) in Bat Xat (Bát Xát) District.

It is obvious by just looking at the roads on either side, that progress on the China side of the river is ahead of that in Vietnam.

Here, there is hardly any border control and porous as it is, local folks can easily travel back-and-forth across the river, even by using makeshift rafts.
