The Dragon Scales Fern, an epiphytic plant with the scientific name Pyrrosia piloselloides, is a small creeping fern that consists of a long and thin, wiry rhizome with a diameter of about 1 millimeter, which bears fronds that grow 1.5 to 4 centimeters apart, and that are fleshy and dimorphic (fig.).

The sterile fronds are oval and grow between 1 to 7 centimeters in length, whereas the fertile fronds are linear and between 4 to 16 centimeters long.
