Bhanurangsi Savangwongse
Statue of Bhanurangsi Savangwongse in front of the General Post Office (fig.) in the capital Bangkok (fig.). It commemorates the fact that this prince was in fact the founder of the Thai postal service. He was a son of King Rama IV and a younger brother of King Rama V.
He had a military training and held the rank of Field Marshal. During the reign of his elder brother (fig.), he was also Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Siamese Army.
