Pha Bong
viewpoint in the province
of
Mae Hong Son
overlooks a valley in the area where wild elephants were once rounded up, tamed
and ‘trained’ (son - สอน),
and of which the etymology stands at the origin of
this province's name.
From a
sala,
i.e. an open shelter or pavilion,
visitors can take in the amazing
views of the surroundings and the Samat River in the
valley.
