Nagasena, depicted as one of the Eighteen Arahats, scratching his ear with a stick to symbolize purification of the sense of hearing. In Vietnam, he may be depicted seated on a mythical animal (fig.) and is associated with the 8th Patriarch Phat Da Nan De (fig.).
