  Marici

Thailand

Marici is a bodhisattva in Vajrayana Buddhism who is conflated with the Taoist deity Dou Mu Yuanjun (fig.). Her vahana is a boar, or alternatively, a chariot drawn by seven boars (fig.).

Marici, too, is revered as the mother of the Dipper and resides at the centre of Brahma's Heaven—the realm of primal cosmic energy. Her iconography resembles that of Dou Mu, featuring three eyes, three faces, and eight arms, symbolizing her all-seeing wisdom and manifold divine powers.
