The fruit of the
Mangrove Apple, a species of
Sonneratia
mangrove, with the binomial name
Sonneratia alba.
This circa
4 centimeters large, green, leathery berriy,
with a star-shaped base, contains tiny, white seeds. They are are flattened and buoyant,
and when ripe
the fruit is edible and is said to taste like cheese.
