King Bhumipon Adunyadet with the medal of the Global Leader Award, which was presented to the king by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on 14 January 2009, for his active role in promoting rights in intellectual property, through the support of innovation and creativity at a national level. In the background are depictions some of his projects, i.e. the royal rainmaking program, a water and electricity dam, agricultural projects (tritsadie mai), road and bridge development, and the chai pattana aerator.
