HISTORY & MONARCHY

  Khun San

Thailand

Khun San is one of the eleven heroic leaders who in 1767 fought the invading Burmese in defence of the Bang Rajan camp in Singburi (fig.) and died on the battle field. He was killed in battle during an attack on the camp of the Burmese troops of Akha Bankhayi. He was skilled in shooting guns and in iconography, he is hence depicted holding a rifle.
