Jurong Bird Park in Singapore opened to the public in 1971 and is located on a plot of land with an area of about 50 acres, i.e. 202,000mē. Like the Singapore Zoo (fig.) and the Night Safari (fig.), it is operated by Wildlife Reserves Singapore.

The park consists in part of a landscaped garden, complete with lakes, artificial waterfalls and wetlands. Birds are exhibited both in cages and in huge lofts, where they can freely fly around and come close to visitors.
