The House of Opium, known in Thai as Ban Fin, in Chiang Rai, at the infamous Golden Triangle, an area that got its name from the cultivation of opium. This small museum has a permanent exhibition and aims to educate about opium, portraying many aspects of the cultivation of opium, as well as its trade and use.

The many tools and objects on display, beside these opium scales, include opium-sets (fig.), opium pipes (fig.), opium weights (fig.), opium boxes (fig.), as well as didactic presentations (fig.).
