A Himalayan Griffon Vulture on the wing, spotted soaring over Pokhara, Nepal. This scavenger feeds mostly from carcasses of animals, which it finds by hovering over the mountains, relying on favourable wind conditions, such as thermals and updrafts.

It can cruise for more than six hours and cover more than 160 kilometers in a single day, scanning the ground for carrion.
