  Grey-shanked Douc Langur

PREVIOUS MONKEY NEXT MONKEY Vietnam

Grey-shanked Douc Langurs were originally described as a subspecies of the Red-shanked Douc Langur (fig.), but were later elevated to a monotypic species, due to morphological differences.

Like other Leaf Monkeys, Douc Langurs (fig.) are herbivorous, feeding primarily on leaves, fruits and buds, and hence spend most of their lives in the canopy of trees. See also List of Thai Animal Names.
