A pale brown, female Giant Uranid Moth, species Lyssa zampa, with its wings closed. When its wings are open, the brown-pale band on the upper wings will line up with the ones on the lower wings, forming vertical lines. Males are similar, but of a darker brown colour (fig.).

This giant nocturnal insect, in the photo left seen from underneath, has a wingspan of about 15 centimeters.
