  Bangkok's full name at Wat Arun

The full name of Krung Thep, i.e. Bangkok (fig.), written in golden Thai script on a yellow background on the quayside near the Temple of Dawn (fig.), i.e. Wat Arun, on the west bank of the Chao Phrya River. Initially, the banner was red with golden script (fig.), but this was changed to yellow in honour of King Bhumiphon, the colour of his birthday according to the sih prajam wan system, after the King in October 2016 passed away. The text reads: กรุงเทพมหานคร อมรรัตนโกสินทร์ มหินทรายุธยา มหาดิลกภพ นพรัตน์ราชธานีบุรีรมย์ อุดมราชนิเวศน์มหาสถาน อมรพิมานอวตารสถิต สักกะทัตติยะวิษณุกรรมประสิทธ์, in Latin script: Krung Thep Maha Nakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahintharayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit.
