Stone carving of the three-headed elephant Erawan, symbol of ancient Siam and mount of the god Indra. Erawan is often depicted in mural paintings and as a gilded relief on temple gates (fig.). He is sometimes represented with Ganesha on his back (fig.). See also Airavata.
