  Yellow Flamboyant

The Yellow Flamboyant is a large deciduous tree in the family Leguminosae, and which is in English also commonly referred to as Golden Flamboyant, Yellow Flame Tree and Copperpod, and which in Thai is known as nonsih.

 

It has bipinnate leaves and bears yellow flowers that grow in upright branched clusters at the end of its twigs. It has reddish fruit pods that turn brown as they ripen, contain one to four seeds, and taper at both ends.
