Saphaan Chonlamarkwithi,
is a stunning
coastal bridge in
Chonburi.
It was built to improve connectivity between the coastal
towns of Bang Saen (บางแสน) and Ahng Silah (อ่างศิลา)
and completed in 2010, to help ease traffic congestion
in Chonburi's city centre. Spanning approximately 6
kilometres, the bridge offers a vital link during
weekends when many day tourists from Bangkok head to the
ever-popular Bang Saen Beach (fig.),
while providing breathtaking panoramic views of the sea,
especially captivating at sunset.
