1. som, i.e. oranges (apples from China) which are popular fortune fruit for Chinese New Year; 2. hang pao, i.e. red envelope with banknotes and  decorated with the Chinese character foo (fig.), which stands for ‘blessing’, ‘good luck’ and ‘happiness’ (fig.). The orange-yellow design in the background is based on the stylized pattern of a Chinese Knot (fig.), which −without a beginning nor an end− represents Eternity.
