Chatila Setthi, a legendary millionaire in Buddhist lore, was born under miraculous circumstances and raised by a wealthy merchant. He demonstrated extraordinary merit by turning unsellable goods into fortune and receiving a miraculous ‘golden mountain’, which appeared as a testament to his past virtuous deeds. Although immensely wealthy, Chatila remained spiritually aware, using his resources for good and eventually renouncing his riches to seek Enlightenment.
