  celadon

Thailand

Celadon pottery with a green-grey  glaze. At the bottom, the earthenware is left bare to prevent it from sticking to the baking tray. Modern celadon is much finer (fig.), but the name is often misused for pottery with a chemical glaze in which copper or lead are used.
