  Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasse

Vietnam

Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasses are best-known for the fact that they live in a cleaning symbiosis with larger –often predatory– fish.

They groom those larger fish and benefit from this by feeding on any parasites and dead skin tissue, that they remove from them.

Adults are silvery-white, often with a yellow back and head, and a black lateral stripe along the length of the body, that becomes wider towards the tail (fig.).

The odd and somewhat larger individual in this small group of Cleaner Wrasses is a Bicolour Cleaner Wrasse (fig.).
