A male Baya Weaver. Weaverbirds are fairly commonly distributed across South and Southeast Asia. This one is in eclipse plumage, i.e. changing from breeding into non-breeding plumage (fig.) or visa versa.

 

They inhabit open country, such as marshlands, grasslands, cultivated areas, scrub and secondary growths, usually near fresh or brackish water.
