A
Balloonplant
in a roadside garden in the
town of Doi Mae Salong, in
Chiang Rai province.
Though originally from Africa, it has been widely
naturalized and is often found as an ornamental plant, both in gardens and in
floral bouquets, liked for its green hollow inflated balls with prickly hairs
that stick out from the foliage that consists of lanceolate leaves on otherwise
bare stalks.
