A sculpture of
Jivaka,
one of the
Eighteen Arahats, nicknamed the Heart Exposing
Arhat. He is
depicted
in a seating pose, with both his hands pulling back the
lapels of his garment, thus revealing his chest with a
Buddha image on it, as proof that he
has the Buddha in his heart.
In
Vietnam,
he may be depicted riding a
turtle or
tortoise
(fig.).
